The VAFA is excited to launch its next Strategic Plan which will guide the association over the next four years (2023-2026).
The Strategic Plan document has been six months in the making, with the project being led by Sports Community CEO, Steve Pallas and supported by VAFA Clubs & Community Manager, Sean Walker, with Directors Oliver Gilbert, Sara Delbosc and CEO Jason Reddick overseeing.
A large and extensive consultation process was undertaken as part of the development of the Strategic Plan. This included engagement through surveys and 1-1 interviews with VAFA Clubs, VAFA Umpire Association, VAFA Commercial Partners, VAFA Life members, VAFA directors and the VAFA Administration team.
The Strategic Plan reflects four new VAFA values which were developed through club feedback. These values are Inclusive, Respect, Integrity and Community. The VAFA Strategic Plan also highlights four pillars: Football & Umpiring, Commercial & Brand, Community, and Governance & Finance, which represent a combination of initiatives that will be key focuses for the Association for the next four years.
The Strategic Plan will be a document that helps guide the association and focuses energy, resources and time moving forward. The Strategic Plan will remain fluid and upon annual review may have additions or omissions based on consultative feedback. The ongoing progress of the delivery of objectives within the Strategic Plan will be reported back to all VAFA Stakeholders annually through the annual report and the VAFA will highlight major accomplishments as they are achieved.
When asked about the Strategic Plan, VAFA CEO Jason Reddick said “This Strategic Plan is a key document for the VAFA that will be constantly used to drive our management of the Association. Given the wonderfully high level of engagement achieved in producing the Plan, it clearly represents the interests of all our Members, and provides our staff with a clear focus to deliver on all the objectives.”
The VAFA Strategic Plan can be viewed below and downloaded by clubs on the VAFA portal.
