The Premier B Women’s fixture has been released for the 2025 season. New club Port Melbourne Chargers will host Old Melburnians in their historic first home game at JL Murphy
The VAFA is excited to announce it has extended its partnership with RSN 927 as the official VAFA radio broadcaster.
The VAFA and RSN first partnered in 2019 to great success, with the Match of the Round and the FTLOTG Podcast broadcast on RSN Digital each week.
VAFA Head of Media, Nick Armistead, said the new agreement was another substantial step forward as the VAFA continually strives to provide opportunities to best promote the competition.
“RSN’s appetite to work collaboratively with the VAFA and promote community sport has already produced outstanding results for the Association and our clubs in a short period of time,” he said.
“Coverage of the VAFA went to new heights in 2019 and, following the events of 2020, we understand the importance of supporting our clubs with increased exposure on one of Melbourne’s most respected sports media broadcasters.”
The VAFA and RSN produced 125 hours of live VAFA radio coverage in 2019, including interviews with 109 match day guests. There were 25 one-hour episodes of the FTLOTG Podcast and a dedicated Awards Night Program which encompassed a further 45 guests from every section of the Association.
RSN Program Director, Adam White, said RSN is proud to continue its relationship with the VAFA for 2021 and beyond, and looks forward to playing a key role in the promotion of the Association when community football returns.
“The VAFA is one of the biggest and most respected sporting organisations in Melbourne with so many teams, players, volunteers and supporters following the fortunes of the competition every week,” he said.
“To play a role in sharing that excitement every week with not only the Match of the Round but all the stories during the week is a responsibility we take very seriously.”
“After the devastation of the cancellation of the 2020 season, RSN believes this will be one of the VAFA’s most important seasons in its rich history, so to be taking you to the footy every weekend on our digital channel is a very exciting feeling.”
The VAFA will return to the RSN Digital airwaves when football returns on April 10. Stay up to date with all VAFA content at VAFA.com.au and follow us on socials: @VAFA.HQ on Facebook, @VAFA_HQ on Twitter, and vafahq and vafawomens on Instagram.
