This year’s four-week finals series in A and B Section has afforded us a decent look at all contenders on Sportscover Arena, where in two weeks time the laurels will be cut and distributed.

The west is celebration central at the moment with Werribee and Williamstown CYMS taking out the D2 and D3 Senior and Reserves titles respectively. Bulleen Templestowe claimed the D1 crown with their victory over Old Geelong on Saturday.

The remarkable story of the St Bedes/Mentone Tigers footy club grew another leg today, when they rolled Collegians to secure a berth in the A Section grand final.

Reckon you’ve seen it all when it comes to Old Xavs? Well today they took things to a new level. In one of the more extraordinary games ever played at Sportscover Arena, they came home like a steam train to roll Old Scotch and move into the preliminary final.

In a nail biting last quarter, Marcellin held on to defeat Old Haileybury by 1 solitary goal. At three quarter time Marcellin were down by 12 points but kicking with the ascendency of a strong breeze looked capable of hauling in the Bloods.
