Round 3 features William Buck Premier Men’s Showcase Round with ALL FIVE matches live-streamed for the first time, plus a Women’s double-header on KTV. See all the details and broadcast links.
FRIDAY APRIL 25
We kick off our wall-to-wall VAFA Media coverage with the annual Anzac Day clash between OLD SCOTCH & COLLEGIANS on Friday afternoon.
The Cardinals ultimately ended Collegians’ premiership defence with a commanding victory in the First Semi-Final last September. The Purple & Gold Army has circled this date on their calendar ever since.
The Lions had won 10 straight over Old Scotch before that First Semi, including both home & away games last season.
This promises to be a typically spirited clash between two great rivals! Join us for the Anzac Day pre-game ceremony, with the opening bounce to follow at 1pm.
SATURDAY APRIL 26
Kick off SHOWCASE SATURDAY with our KommunityTV live-stream double-header – a WILLIAM BUCK PREMIER WOMEN’S top-of-the-table showdown as two undefeated teams lock horns at Como Park.
It’s Old Geelong hosting Caulfield Grammarians as the first two legs of a special OGs quadruple-header, with the Reserves from 8.30am, followed by Old Geelong unfurling their 2024 Premier B Women’s premiership flag ahead of the big senior clash at 10.30am.
Both teams have flown out of the blocks in the opening two rounds and there are so many questions to be answered here.
Are the OGs the real deal? Are Caulfield ready to take the next step from finalists to contenders? Who will maintain their winning momentum?
Find out with our LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage on KommunityTV, with Reserves from 8.25am, followed by the flag unfurling and Seniors coverage from 10.20am. A News Corp subscription is required to watch the live stream on KommunityTV – sign up from just $6 per week.
Then it’s a Saturday afternoon QUADRUPLE HEADER of Premier Men’s live streams:
This week’s SEN VAFA Match of the Day sees De La Salle host St Kevin’s at Waverley Oval.
It’s been a tough reintroduction to Premier Men’s for De La Salle, facing Old Xavs and Old Scotch in the first two rounds.
After being mugged in the opening round, De La showed some promising signs against the reigning champs in Round 2, including a 5-goal-to-3 final quarter that added some respectability to the scoreboard & built some belief and confidence.
SKOB is battle-hardened after a challenging couple of matches, including a close loss to Old Scotch and a close win over Old Xavs in a nailbiter.
The visitors will start as favourites, but if the likes of Christian Algeri, Fraser Cameron and Rob Amendola can get off the chain, the De La faithful could find themselves in for a memorable afternoon.
Join our award-winning VAFA SEN MATCH OF THE DAY commentary team from 1:45pm live-streaming on the VAFA website AND with audio coverage on the SENApp & SEN.com.au, featuring interviews with the coaches & players and exclusive access into the team huddles.
The SEN App is available for iPhone and Android, and works with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Plus we have THREE MORE William Buck Premier Men’s games for you to enjoy LIVE & FREE on VAFA.com.au from 1.50pm Saturday:
The UNI DERBY is always must-see TV as the University Blues & University Blacks meet head-on for bragging rights at Melbourne University Oval.
Both these teams lost to St Bernard’s in the opening two weeks of the season – the Blues after-the-siren in a Round 1 heartbreaker; the Blacks run over after leading at quarter time.
VAFA rivalries don’t get any more passionate than this.
The Match of the Round might be at St Bernard’s College as two undefeated teams go head-to-head when St Bernard’s host Old Brighton.
The Snowdogs have started the season impressively and now they get to test how far they’ve come by hosting last year’s minor premiers, who have also made a perfect start to 2025.
This promises to be a fascinating contest between a team we know will be a contender and one with ambitions of becoming one.
The final game of the round will provide an interesting gauge of where two potential finalists are at as Old Xaverians hosts Old Haileybury at Toorak Park.
Both teams are 1-1 after opening-round wins were followed by Round 2 losses. Now we get to see how they stack up against each other in what promises to be a revealing clash.
Xavs were a popular pre-season tip to be the big improvers in 2025, while the Bloods have shown glimpses that suggest they could insert themselves into the finals mix as well.
Bounce the ball and let’s see them go at it on Saturday, LIVE on VAFA.com.au!
