Round 1 Anytime Fitness Men’s Rising Star: Harry Warfe
The VAFA congratulates Harry Warfe from Old Xaverians Football Club who has been nominated as the Round 1 Anytime Fitness Rising Star. Harry snagged seven goals on debut for Old Xaverians Under 19 Premier Men’s side in the first match of the season.
What the club said:
Warfe is no stranger to terrorising opposing defenders. In 2024, he kicked 90 goals as a small forward in his first season of senior footy at Omeo Benambra, where his coach was Old Xav, Daniel Betts. The young gun’s biggest haul was ten, his smallest, one: and he also kicked every number in between over the season, capping his effort with three in the Grand Final, to win the best on the ground medal.
He played his junior football at Lakes Entrance Football Netball Club and came to the Old Xavs over the summer after Betts contacted Football Director Matt Ball through Ted Woodruff.
If Harry continues to play as well as he did on Opening Day, he will surely be considered for senior selection soon.
