The VAFA continues to be a fertile recruiting ground for the elite pathway, with the incredible news that 100 VAFA players have been signed by VFL clubs in 2025.
It’s a remarkable number that reinforces the depth of talent spread across the VAFA, with 26 different clubs represented, also highlighting the quality of coaching and development programs right across the competition.
Sandringham lead the way with 13 VAFA signings, followed closely by North Melbourne with 11, including Old Scotch premiership pair James Tarrant and Alex Noblett.
Indeed, the old adage of ‘success breeds success’ has rung true again, with a total of 15 Old Scotch players signed to VFL lists this season.
Richmond and Coburg are close behind the Kangas with 10 VAFA signings, while Port Melbourne has 9, Williamstown 8 and Carlton 7, including Old Scotch flag winners Ollie Badr and Jack Polkinghorne, alongside Fitzroy duo Dane Harvey and Heath Ramshaw.
