With the Big V celebrating its centenary, an incredible opportunity is now available to coach the Big V Men or Premier B-Division 3 Men’s team in 2025.
The Big V Men will be looking to regain the silverware lost to Perth Football League last year when they face the Sandgropers again – this time in a twilight clash at Elsternwick Park on Saturday, July 12.
The Big V Men’s Premier B-Division 3 team will head to Bendigo on Sunday, July 13 to defend the cup they fought so hard to win last year against the Bendigo FNL.
Applications are now open for the Head Coaching role of both teams. Current VAFA club senior coaches are NOT eligible to apply.
Both roles are voluntary and will involve building and overseeing a program to select, prepare and coach the squad. The role will include 4-5 training sessions, which will also assist in trimming the initial squad to the final squad.
The Head Coach will be supported by two Assistant Coaches, a runner and other support staff to assist with talent identification, squad selection and team management.
The coaching panel will be required to watch VAFA matches (both live and recorded) to scout potential players in the lead-up to squad selection.
VAFA staff will provide the Head Coach with team management, communications and logistical assistance, including match-day.
A history of VAFA coaching success and a working knowledge of current VAFA talent is not mandatory but will be looked upon favourably.
For more information or to submit your application (clearly specifying which role you are applying for), please contact VAFA General Manager of Football & Umpiring, Dale Christie at [email protected] & 0433 126 439.
Applications close Friday, March 7.
