This year VAFA clubs engaged in various revenue-generating avenues to support their programs and initiatives. Among these were the TAC Club Rewards Program, Telstra Country Footy Grant, and Good for Footy Raffle.
Through the TAC Club Rewards Program, 29 clubs raised $82,500 by promoting the TAC Road Safety message, particularly during the TAC Road Safety Round. Initiatives included media outreach, wearing blue TAC armbands on game day, and fostering a culture of road safety. Leading clubs included Monash University FC, La Trobe University FC, and Power House FC, earning $7,000, $6,000, and $6,000, respectively, for their contributions.
The Telstra Country Footy Grant offered funding to help clubs enhance safety and reduce volunteer workload. This year, 22 clubs successfully applied, collectively securing $36,184. These funds are set to support projects like installation of netting behind goals, the purchase of inclusive guernseys, defibrillators and resources for volunteer training. In 2024, due to changes in funding allocation and to support more clubs across Victoria, smaller projects were prioritised where smaller funds were allocated to clubs.
The Good for Footy Raffle provided an excellent fundraising opportunity, with 52 VAFA clubs participating and raising a combined $87,815. All ticket sales went directly to the clubs, with standout efforts from Mazenod OCFC and UHS-VU, who raised $21,760 and $10,030, respectively. This year saw the highest club participation, reflecting growing engagement with the raffle program.
Through these initiatives, VAFA clubs collectively raised a total of $206,499. Congratulations to all clubs for their efforts in strengthening their financial positions through active participation in revenue-generating initiatives.
