It’s the busiest Grand Final weekend of the VAFA season with 9 premiership deciders to be played. We’ve got live coverage of 5 high-stakes VAFA matches for you to enjoy on Saturday & Sunday! Here are the details:
WILLIAM BUCK PREMIER MEN’S PRELIMINARY FINAL
ST KEVIN’S vs OLD SCOTCH (2.30pm Saturday)
Who will face Old Brighton in the William Buck Premier Men’s Grand Final?
Find out as St Kevin’s face Old Scotch in a blockbuster Preliminary Final simulcast LIVE on SEN & KOMMUNITY TV from 1.45 pm Saturday.
SKOB went agonisingly close to their sixth straight Premier Men’s Grand Final last weekend, only to fall a Sam Flockart goal short of the Tonners.
Old Scotch ended Collegians’ premiership defence with a comprehensive victory to win through to their first Premier Men’s Preliminary Final since returning to the top flight in 2018.
Both teams boast a victory over the other this season – St Kevin’s won a 2-point thriller at Camberwell in Round 7, and Old Scotch was extremely impressive in their 48-point win over SKOB at TH King in Round 15.
Either will be a worthy Grand Finalist but only one can be! Find out who this Saturday afternoon with our LIVE STREAM & RADIO COVERAGE:

PREMIER C MEN’S GRAND FINAL
OLD CAREY vs HAMPTON ROVERS (2.40pm Saturday)
Premier C has been an incredible competition in 2024 with three standout teams setting the pace – Old Carey, Hampton Rovers & AJAX.
Unfortunately for the Jackas, they suffered telling injuries at the wrong end of the season and were eliminated by Parkdale in the 1st Semi Final, before the Vultures fell agonisingly short to Rovers in a thrilling Preliminary Final last weekend.
Both Grand Finalists enter in fantastic form and two of their meetings this season proved to be thrillers, including a fortnight ago when just a point separated them entering time-on in the final term before the Panthers found the final 3 goals to progress straight through.
It promises to be a fascinating battle of contrasting styles – the inside power & grunt of the big-bodied Rovers midfielders versus the speed & run of the Panthers.

DIVISION 3 MEN’S GRAND FINAL
ST JOHN’S vs CANTERBURY (2.30pm Saturday)
These two teams have peaked at the right time of the year to secure their promotion to Division 2 in 2025. Now they lock horns to decide who will rise with a premiership cup in the trophy cabinet.
St John’s (14-2) finished in second position, then defeated Power House by 19pts in the Qualifying Final & minor premiers North Brunswick by 4pts in a heart-stopping Second Semi to win through to Grand Final Day.
Canterbury (13-4) finished in fourth position and had to go the long way in the Final Five system, defeating Richmond Central by 26pts in the Elimination Final, Power House by 19 in the 1st Semi (the same margin St John’s beat them by) and North Brunswick by 26pts in the Prelim to successfully run the gauntlet all the way to the final game of the season.
So both teams enter on a wave of momentum:
So both of their meetings turned out to be absolute thrillers and the stage is set for another nail-biter!

WILLIAM BUCK PREMIER WOMEN’S GRAND FINAL
ST KEVIN’S vs OLD SCOTCH (2.30pm Sunday)
The two powerhouses of the 2024 William Buck Premier Women’s competition will collide in the ultimate decider, live streaming Sunday 2.15pm on Kommunity TV & VAFA.com.au. Will it be a record-setting 4 flags in a row for St Kevin’s or will Old Scotch make history of their own?
It’s not often you go 17-1 and not end up as minor premiers, but that’s what happened to reigning premier St Kevin’s this season – pipped on percentage by their main rival Old Scotch, who finished top by almost 62%.
In fact, the whopping percentages of both these teams tells the story of their dominant seasons – Old Scotch at 417.1% and St Kevin’s at 355.1%. They have quite simply been in another class to the rest of the competition, but now they must decide which of them is the HEAD of the class in 2024.
Each won the home leg of their regular season series, with St Kevin’s coming from behind to win the Second Semi Final on neutral ground at Elsternwick Park. On Sunday they return to VAFA HQ for the premiership decider.
It promises to be a Grand Final to remember between two truly great teams!

PREMIER B MEN’S GRAND FINAL
OLD HAILEYBURY vs DE LA SALLE (2.30pm Sunday)
These two teams have been the pacesetters all season, and now we have the mouth-watering Premier B Grand Final match-up that most have been expecting.
With a return to William Buck Premier Men’s now secured for both in 2025, this game is all about the silverware and finishing a memorable season on the highest of highs.
Each has beaten the other in 2024, so both teams know that their best is good enough to hoist the premiership cup on Sunday afternoon. Old Haileybury won their Second Semi Final clash comfortably by 41 points but De La Salle learned a lot from that disappointing performance and are riding a huge wave of emotion after an all-time Preliminary Final win last weekend.
They will enter as underdogs but with their Reserves playing the Grand Final curtain-raiser, a huge De La crowd is expected to pack into Beach Oval. The Bloods also boast a passionate supporter base so it promises to be an electrifying atmosphere and a great game of high-stakes footy.
