It’s a blockbuster weekend of live VAFA Media coverage across Premier Men’s, Premier Women’s and U19 Premier, with plenty to enjoy Saturday and Sunday, with six live matches! See all the details.
The weekend kicks off with the Holmesglen Under 19 Premier GRAND FINAL between St Kevin’s and Old Brighton on Kommunity TV from 9.15am Saturday.
The Tonners (15-3) finished 2 games clear of SKOB but lost a thrilling Second Semi Final by 4 points when a kick after the siren fell agonisingly short.
Old Brighton then defeated Old Scotch in the Preliminary Final by 37 points to set up an eagerly-anticipated rematch.
Both teams will enter in fantastic form – SKOB on an 8-game winning streak, with their last loss to the Tonners in Round 11. While Old Brighton have won 6 of their last 7, with their only loss in that time to SKOB in that Second Semi nailbiter.
It’s the flip of a coin, with both teams stacked full of exciting young talent!
Catch it LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on KommunityTV from 9.15am Saturday.
Then it’s a SUPER SEMI-FINAL SATURDAY of Premier Men’s with BOTH Semi Finals simulcast LIVE on SEN & KOMMUNITY TV:
1st SEMI FINAL – OLD SCOTCH vs COLLEGIANS
The most remarkable stat when looking at these two teams is that Collegians have WON the LAST 10 MEETINGS between them – an incredible streak that stretches back to mid-2015!
They met twice during the home & away season and, sure enough, the Lions got over the line in both – by 3 points in Round 3 and 7 points in Round 17.
But Cards’ coach Mark Gnatt will be impressing upon his team that if they take their chances, they can break the streak. They kicked a combined 15.28 in their two losses to the Lions this year, generating more scores in both but failing to put either game away.
Collegians are battle-hardened and have had to fight tooth and nail to keep their campaign alive. Forty points down last week, they could have run up the white flag but instead chose to dig in and fight for their season, showing resilience and composure to prevail ultimately.
They will need those qualities again this week to overcome a team that knows it’s good enough to go all the way if it executes on the day.
The winner progresses to the Preliminary Final, while the loser can start planning for 2025.
What a game it promises to be as two of the sport’s oldest rivals write another chapter in the storied Wesley-Scotch history!

2nd SEMI FINAL – OLD BRIGHTON vs ST KEVIN’S
They’ve been the Top 2 teams for most of the season, so it’s no surprise they will meet for an express pass to the Grand Final.
They’ve met twice this year and both turned out to be absolute thrillers – SKOB by 2 points at home in Round 8, then Old Brighton by 1 point at home last weekend, after leading by 41 points in the second quarter before St Kevin’s steadily pegged them back with 8 of the next 10 goals.
Now they meet on neutral territory at Elsternwick Park in what promises to be another nail-biter.
Which team adjusts better to what they learned last week? Does either team have something up their sleeve that they’ve been working on behind-the-scenes?
The winner progresses straight through to Grand Final Day, while the loser will be heading for the Preliminary Final.
What a game it promises to be as two of the sport’s oldest rivals write another chapter in the storied Wesley-Scotch history!

We also have live GRAND FINAL ACTION for you on Saturday afternoon, with the DIVISION 1 MEN’S GRAND FINAL between PRAHRAN & PARKSIDE on VAFA.com.au from 2.30pm Saturday.
The Two Blues finished 3 games clear of Parkside then defeated them by 60 points in the Second Semi Final to progress straight through to Grand Final Day.
Parkside regrouped to defeat UHS-VU by 7 points in a tense Preliminary Final and earn themselves another shot at the minor premiers.
Prahran have won 13 straight since May 18 and have only lost twice this season – but one of those losses was to Parkside (by 27 points in Round 3) so the underdogs know they are capable of pulling off the upset should they execute on the day.
And Parkside also enter in great form, having won 6 of their last 7 – the only loss in that time being the Second Semi Final.
It promises to be a fantastic game at Martin Reserve in Hadfield. Opening bounce is 2.30pm Saturday and you’ll see every moment of the Division 1 Men’s Grand Final LIVE on VAFA.com.au.
We kick off our Sunday coverage with the 2024 William Buck PREMIER WOMEN’S PRELIMINARY FINAL between Old Scotch and Caulfield Grammarians LIVE on KommunityTV.
Old Scotch finished as minor premiers but lost to St Kevin’s by 8 points in a tight Second Semi Final last weekend.
Caulfield Grammarians finished fourth then defeated Kew by 4 points in a thrilling 1st Semi Final to keep their season alive and earn a shot at a place in the Grand Final.
These two teams met twice during the home & away season, with Old Scotch victorious by 65 points in Round 8 and 36 points in Round 15.
And while they will enter as underdogs, the Fields have won 7 of their last 8 (with their only loss in that time to Old Scotch in Round 15) so they will have plenty of confidence and feel like all the pressure and expectation is on their opponent, which makes them dangerous.
St Kevin’s awaits in the Grand Final. Which team will join them? Find out with our LIVE & EXCLUSIVE coverage on KommunityTV from 2.20pm Sunday afternoon.
We also have live Premier C Men’s finals action for you to enjoy on Sunday afternoon as Hampton Rovers face Parkdale Vultures in the PREMIER C PRELIMINARY FINAL from 2.30pm on VAFA.com.au.
The Rovers finished the home & away season in second spot but fell to minor premiers Old Carey by 19 points in a tight Second Semi Final.
The Vultures finished fourth then took care of AJAX by 44 points in the First Semi, with the VAFA’s leading goalkicker of 2024 – Mitch Brown – booting another 6 to take his season’s tally to 84.
Can Mitch maul the Rovers and launch his team into a Grand Final and promotion to Premier B? Or will star midfielder Christian Carnovale lead Hampton to another shot at the Panthers?
It promises to be a fascinating match-up and you can catch every moment LIVE & FREE on VAFA.com.au from 2:30pm Sunday!
A News Corp subscription is required to watch the live stream on KommunityTV – sign up from just $5 per week.
Additionally this weekend, all Grand Finals will be available to be watched on-demand on VAFATV.
