On Sunday the VAFA in partnership with AFL Victoria delivered a bespoke Level 2 Coaching Accreditation Workshop at the State National Hockey Centre. The workshop was delivered at no cost for VAFA coaches and served as a professional development platform for coaches to deepen their understanding of advanced coaching techniques and methodologies.
The workshop targeted VAFA coaches specialising in coaching U19’s, as well as women coaching in the VAFA and men coaching women’s teams. The workshop attracted 23 participants from 16 different VAFA clubs, comprising head and assistant coaches. Among them, six were involved in coaching U19’s teams, while the remaining seventeen were dedicated to coaching women’s teams in the year 2024.
The professional development opportunity was delivered by experienced AFL Victoria Coach Developers and seasoned practitioners. The workshop fostered a collaborative environment where participants could exchange ideas, share best practices, and engage in meaningful discussions. Through interactive sessions and practical exercises, coaches were able to gain hands-on experience and apply newfound knowledge in real-world scenarios. Moreover, the workshop emphasized the importance of continuous self-reflection and professional growth.
The whole day course was a remarkable success with coaches empowered with great insights and tools to take their coaching to the next level. VAFA is confident that the workshop not only provided coaching knowledge, but also helped coaches to build strong relations with coaches from other VAFA clubs.
A big thank you to all the participants and we wish you all the best for 2024!
