Round 4 Anytime Fitness Women’s Rising Star: Anabelle Gangi
The VAFA congratulates Anabelle Gangi from Old Xaverians who has been nominated as the Round 4 Anytime Fitness Rising Star. Anabelle is a pocket rocket on the field and has hit the scoreboard in her three games played for the WOX with 2 majors on the weekend in their win over Old Camberwell/AJAX.
What the Club said:
Anabelle is playing her first year with the WOX and is a current Y12 student at Genazzano. She is part of their terrific footy program and trained with Oakleigh Chargers over the summer, narrowly missing final selection in their 2024 squad. Anabelle decided to join Old Xavs to play with her sister and friends so she could develop her skills at a competitive level and have some fun.
According to reliable sources, if Anabelle wasn’t a rising footy star she had a lot of potential in the musical arts. A short-lived singing career in Bali & a keen saxophonist from all reports but we hope she sticks with footy!! Anabelle is a determined, her family may say stubborn, young woman & her favourite pastime away from footy is stealing her friend’s lunches at school.
Back to footy, Anabelle is a highly skilled player with excellent game IQ and great composure under pressure. She loves kicking goals & equally enjoys setting them up for her teammates. We look forward to her playing many more games in the red & black.
