The VAFA congratulates Shaedyn Aylen from Parkdale Vultures who has been nominated as the Round 2 Anytime Fitness Rising Star. Shaedyn was nominated after just her second match of senior footy where she kicked 2 goals and was named second-best afield in her team’s huge win over Old Camberwell in Round 2.
What the club said:
Shaedyn came to Parkdale after a decorated junior career at Mordi-Brae. There she became a premiership player along with winning multiple best and fairest awards. Playing down back and through the midfield, Shaedyn’s competitive drive and want to hunt the football has always stood out amongst her peers.
She has consistently been her teams best contested player which has carried on from junior football to senior. When she is at her best she can break the game open, winning the hardball over and over to the benefit of her team. Shaedyn reads the play as well as anyone and has always set an example for others with the determined way she has approached her football.
Head Coach Mark Allen said, “Shaedyn has been an amazing addition to the Parkdale Vultures Women’s team this season, instantly winning the respect of her teammates. She has led from the front with her ability to win the ball all around the ground and is always looking for ways to bring her teammates into the game. The younger players like Shaedyn are the future of our club and it is fantastic to see her nominated for the Rising Star Award”.
