Big V coaches confirmed for Bendigo clashes
The VAFA are delighted to announce that LUKE MAHONEY & PAUL CARRIGAN will lead the Big V into battle against Bendigo FNL in July. The VAFA will send two teams
The VAFA congratulates Jack Behnk from St Bedes/Mentone Tigers, who has received the Anytime Fitness Rising Star nomination for Round 1. Jack delivered a stellar performance in the first match of the season, kicking 5 goals in just his fifth game of senior football.
What the club said:
Jack was part of our 2022 Under 19’s Division 1 premiership team, 2023 Under 19’s Premier finals player, leading goal kicker and also broke through for his senior debut in 2023. Come 2024, he forms part of a young forward line in our Premier B Senior team. He is a dynamic forward with sublime skills, either on the lead, or in the air. He has that X factor to be able to change the momentum of a game, even with limited opportunities.
Although blessed with an abundance of talent, with his marking and a raking left foot (with a comparison to a young Jeremy Cameron not out of order for Jack), it’s the intangibles that bring value to the team and make him the player that he is, those being his work ethic and camaraderie around the club.
“Jack is an integral part of the next generation of talent that is working hard to forge their own team success here at SBMT” said Head of Program Coach, Brad Berry. “He is such a great person to have around the footy club and his Rising Star nomination is just reward for effort he has put in over the pre-season”.
Congrats on the nomination Jack Behnk!
