The 2025 VAFA Division 3 Men’s fixture has dropped, and there are plenty of great games to look forward to in what looks to be a highly competitive section. Canterbury
The VAFA off-season has produced another influx of big recruits, but none come any bigger than the Marmalade boys, who’ll run out for the Wattle Park Animals Thirds in 2024.
After a huge 2023 season playing in the lowest level of the Adelaide Footy League as the ‘Div 12 Ressies’, Marmalade’s popularity has continued to explode, with 200,000 followers across TikTok and Instagram and regular appearances on Fox Footy and other media outlets.
All of Wattle Park’s matches in Thirds Division 4 South will be live streamed on the VAFA website and to Marmalade’s followers on YouTube in 2024, starting with Saturday’s round two clash against Elsternwick at home, commencing at 9:20am.
Marmalade are all about making footy accessible for anyone no matter their skill or fitness levels, making it fun and enjoyable, and highlighting the importance of local footy in the community through social media.
Key players in 2024 include Checkers, Srey, Caden MacDonald (AFL YouTube), Connor Rogers (AFL Podcaster), Jarra Davis (Channel 7), Will Taylor (Clubby Sports), Bailey McCabe (Ball Magnets Tom Mitchell), Vinnie Brigante (TikTok), Scott Walton (Clubby Sports).
Checkers said the boys are looking forward to playing in the VAFA this year.
“We had 190+ applications from clubs around Australia seeking our services but couldn’t be happier to land at Wattle Park. It’s a great group of young lads, mostly from living on campus at Deakin next door to the oval.”
“Checkers has taken on the role of player coach and while we hope to make finals if not go all the way in 2024, the main aim is to get everyone enjoying their footy.”
