In 2023, 23 VAFA clubs have registered for the Toyota Good for Footy Raffle, and with a month left to go, have raised a collective total of just over $35,000 for their clubs.
South Melbourne Districts FC is leading the way with $8,515 raised to date, this sits SMDFC 5th Overall in Victoria and just outside the top 10 nationally for funds raised in 2023.
When speaking to VAFA Media, South Melbourne Districts President Libby Petty spoke about how the club has worked to generate so much engagement with the raffle. “We (the club) set about creating mini incentives to sell raffle tickets – providing players merchandise, free dinner, a drink or 2 as well as shout outs for most creative Instagram posts and volumes of ticket sales. We ended up with 2 players in a head to head battle to raise the most money…with no stones left unturned or tactics used! Overall it became a fun rivalry that helped us raise some great funds. We will use the funds to support our Pride and Indigenous Rounds next year”
In 2022 VAFA clubs raised a total of $33,000. So with a month to go, VAFA clubs have already surpassed the 2022 figure and are looking to break through the $40,000 funds raised marker.
If your club has already signed up to the Toyota Good for Footy Raffle, the remaining home games of the season serve as an opportune time to rattle those virtual tins. If your club hasn’t signed up then please do so through the Toyota Good for Footy Raffle website, with the Raffle still open for another month.
The top 3 major prizes are Toyota Vehicles valued up to $60,000 including a Toyota Kluger, Toyota Corolla and Toyota Yaris. All proceeds from ticket sales go directly to clubs and the funds raised can be used for any purposes the club desires.
If you’d like to purchase a ticket for the Raffle, please head to the Toyota Good for Footy Raffle website, select the VAFA club you’d like the funds to go to and buy as many tickets as you’d like.
