Statement from VAFA CEO, Jason Reddick
Victoria has been rocked in recent days by the tragic passing of Beaumaris Football Club’s Bianca Jones and Holly Bowles. On behalf of the entire VAFA community, our deepest condolences
The VAFA congratulates Hugo Nosiara from Old Haileybury Amateur Football Club, who has received the Men’s Anytime Fitness Rising Star nomination for Round 13. Hugo has just played his 8th game in the seniors in his debut year, and gave an enormous effort in the backline against Caulfield to help his side win the game!
What the club said:
Hugo has been a pleasant surprise to us at Old Haileybury with his ability to find his feet so quickly at Senior level. After playing at the school last year he started as a half forward in our Practice Matches. He then hurt his ankle and missed some significant time before coming into our team.
He has turned himself into a damaging half back who uses the ball beautifully off his left foot. Couple this with a great attitude and I believe he has a bright future with our club.
Hugo is currently on Carlton’s VFL list awaiting an opportunity to pull on the jumper and when it comes, he will be ready.
