VAFA Clubs sharing best practice

By VAFA Media · June 8, 2023
VAFA Clubs sharing best practice

VAFA clubs deliver fantastic outcomes for their members, with many clubs excelling in certain areas of their clubs’ operations, whether it be generating sponsors, providing fantastic social options for members, recognising volunteers or fundraising.

With so many clubs doing great work around the association, the VAFA are sharing this work with the rest of the VAFA community through a series of short videos on specific initiatives.

Recently, VAFA Clubs & Community Manager, Sean Walker, sat down with three VAFA clubs to chat about initiatives that these clubs excel in, to then share with the VAFA Community.

Melbourne University Women’s Football Club, whose President, Maddie Sheedy shared the club’s recent success with the TAC Club Rewards Program.

West Brunswick Amateur Football club, whose President, Evan Lloyd shared the work the club are doing to provide an Inclusive Club Environments.

UHS-VU AFC, whose Treasurer and Delegate, Tony Boyce shared the club’s previous success with the Toyota Good for Footy Raffle.

The VAFA is looking to generate a culture of sharing best practice between clubs, so if your club does something exceptional and would like to share it with the VAFA Community through a discussion with Sean Walker, please reach out.

Areas that your club may want to share best practice include:

  • Accessing grants
  • Generating sponsorship
  • Empowering volunteers
  • Social culture and connection
  • Developing strategic plans
  • Member Wellbeing/Welfare
  • Developing coaches

Thank you to Evan, Maddie and Tony for their contributions above and the VAFA looks forward to sharing more club conversations with the VAFA Community.
