It is with sadness that we advise Russell Davidson will be departing the VAFA to take up a new role in community football.
We understand Russell’s decision to take up a role close to home which will enable him to spend more time with his family. Russell departs with our gratitude and best wishes for the future.
Russell commenced his role as Head Field Umpire Coach with the VAFA Umpire Coaching team in early 2020. He joined us from the AFL with an exceptional on-field record including 220 VAFA games and 7 A-Grade Men’s Grand Finals. Russell has made a significant contribution to the VAFA Umpiring community through the many hours spent coaching and developing our umpires.
Russell will always hold a special place in VAFA Umpiring as a past Grand Final Umpire, Past President of the VAFAUA and VAFAUA Life Member.
The entire VAFA community thanks Russell for his outstanding contribution to VAFA Umpiring.
