The VAFA congratulates Tyler Sellers from Old Scotch who has been nominated as the weekends Rising Star. Sellers has flourished under the guidance of Cardinals coach Mark Gnatt is season 2022, so far playing every game and kicking 15 goals.
What the club said:
The 19 year old joined the club from Scotch College in 2021, spending his first year in the Men’s under 19s, playing 10 matches and kicking 18 goals. Tyler made an impressive Men’s Premier ‘A‘ section debut vs Collegians in Round 11, kicking a goal, in the last match before COVID-19 ended the season.
Tyler has been a regular in the Men’s Premier ‘A‘ section in 2022, playing all 12 matches, predominately forward, kicking 15 goals. However Tyler occasionally has been asked to trouble shoot in different roles around the ground. Tyler is a great young man from a wonderful family and we believe he has a great football future at VAFA Premier ‘A Section and beyond that.
