The VAFA congratulates Tahlia Meier on being nominated the Anytime Fitness Women’s Rising Star this week. Tahlia was named amongst the best as Melbourne University Women’s triumphed over West Brunswick on the weekend by 6 points to cement their spot on the top 4.
What the club said:
Tahlia came to us at the conclusion of the Western Bulldogs FC’s VFLW season, after connecting with other MUWFC players who were training alongside her throughout the VFLW season. Tahlia has made an immediate impact on the club and her teammates, with her strong work ethic evident at training and on game day.
Although one of the youngest members of our squad, Tahlia is an incredibly experienced player, having commenced playing footy at age 10. She has represented the Greater Western Victoria Rebels in the NAB league competition, donned the Vic Country jersey in the 2021 NAB AFLW U19 Championships, and played 11 games of VFLW across the past 2 years.
Of her 4 games with us so far this season, she has been in the best on 3 occasions, and has been regarded as a valued member of the team on and off the track. We love having her as part of the club and can’t wait to see her continue to develop across the coming years – one to watch!
