The 2025 VAFA William Buck Premier Women’s fixture has been updated and re-released, due to the following team changes: As a result, the entire fixture has been rescheduled, given Collegians’
After the Queen’s Birthday bye, our teams are back and raring to go for the second half of the season! We’re going right the way through Saturday and Sunday this weekend, and as always VAFA Media has you covered so you don’t miss a moment!
We’re heading to the Daley Oval on Saturday afternoon for an all-important clash between Old Trinity and St Bernard’s. Their lowly ladder positions reflect the significance of the match-up with the loser of this game likely to find themselves playing in Premier B in 2023. For now though, it’s all about the four points that are on the line and attempting to push themselves out of the bottom two relegation zone.
The last time these sides met was the Anzac weekend of Round 3. St Bernard’s claimed their only victory so far on that day, while Old Trinity kicked themselves out of the contest with an inaccurate first half.
Join Joe Pignataro and Josh Heriot for the Saturday warm-up where they’ll speak with Jamie Cassidy-McNamara (Old Trinity coach) and Paul Groves (St Bernard’s coach) before welcoming in Simon Petch and Nick Duxson at the point of the first bounce at 2pm.
To hear the coverage live and uninterrupted, tune into RSN Carnival 1 on your digital radio, or download the RSN927 app and select RSN Carnival 1.
From a Saturday afternoon radio classic, Sunday afternoon offers the game in Premier C. Marcellin play host to Old Ivanhoe at Marcellin College with their own season on the line.
Will they be able to curb the influence of Luke Scuderi in the Old Ivanhoe forward line? It’s a game not to be missed. The clubs will be going back in time too, reflecting on the 1971 Grand Final where these sides both met with Marcellin triumphing half a century ago.
Join Josh Heriot and Mitch Dyer from 1.40pm for the pre-game show, with the first bounce at 2pm.
You can stream the action live right here on the VAFA website and on the VAFA Facebook page.
The top of the table clash in William Buck Premier sees St Kevin’s travel out to the home of VAFA footy, facing Old Melburnians who have been the form side of the competition in the last month. It will be a fascinating watch all afternoon. Josh Freezer & Oscar Hosking vs. Paddy Kerr & Sam Tucker. The bollocking nature of Gus Borthwick vs. the smooth-moving gazelle like running of Tom Jok, there is contests all over the ground!
In William Buck Premier Women’s, Caulfield will play host to Melbourne University Women’s with a spot in the top 2 on the line in this contest. The Mugars have been building into the season, while the Fields have been consistently good week in, week out.
Both of these games will be streamed live and accessible through the My Sport Live channel and App.
