Big V Premier B-Division 3 beats brave Bendigo
The VAFA’s Big V Premier B-Division 3 team found itself under intense pressure as it fought to hang on – and ultimately see off – a spirited Bendigo FNL line-up

In last weekend’s Saturday Warm-Up the discussion around rivalries set the cat amongst the pigeons, one of the nominations that came through was Old Brighton against Caulfield Grammarians.
We don’t have to wait much longer for those two nemesis’ to go toe-to-toe, the dislike between the sides is palpable.
Old Brighton will be smarting after going down to Old Scotch in round 4 while Caulfield Grammarians are on the board in 2022 beating Old Xaverians.
Join Joe Pignataro and Ethan Mills at 1pm for the Saturday warm-up, before Tommy Flanagan and injured Old Brighton ruckman Lochie Filipovic join the call team from the first bounce at 2pm.

We’re heading to Holmes Todd Oval as Elsternwick clash with Parkside in Division 3.
The Wickers have started the year in a blaze of glory and will be coming in hot and fresh after having the bye in Round 4, while Parkside got back on the winners list last weekend with a win over Hawthorn.

VAFA footy starts over breakfast on Saturday morning in William Buck Premier Women’s Kew will be looking to make it three wins in a row as they host Old Xaverians from Victoria Park in Kew at 9.20am
Both sides are seated in the top 4 after the opening month of the year with no side giving an inch against their opposition.
In addition to what’s on offer this weekend, in Premier B Men’s Old Haileybury have started the season as one of the sides to beat. Another side who is in fine form to open 2022 is St Bede’s Mentone Tigers.
It’s a battle between 2nd and 3rd with plenty on the line, even this early in the season. All the action is available from 2pm tomorrow.
