The VAFA is currently seeking volunteer reporters to join its media team to provide coverage of the 2022 season.
The Victorian Amateur Football Association is Australia’s largest senior community football competition, with 70 clubs and more than 14,000 men’s and women’s players across metropolitan Melbourne.
The VAFA is seeking dedicated volunteers to cover our senior men’s and women’s competitions, with articles to be published on the VAFA website and in the digital version of the Amateur Footballer Record.
These positions provide a great opportunity for sports media and journalism students looking for experience in the sports media industry and to build up a portfolio of work. It’s also an opportunity for VAFA supporters and club representatives to use their knowledge of the competition to provide in-depth analysis to a wider audience.
VAFA reporters will be required to produce a 300-word review article summarising each game in a division following each round during the season – submitted by Sunday evening. There are also opportunities to write additional news articles and features for publication on the VAFA website.
If you’re interested in joining VAFA Media in 2022, or if you would to know more about these positions, please contact Head of Media, Cameron Voss, at [email protected] with your resume and an example of your work.
