The VAFA congratulates 2017 U19 Big V representative Sam Ralph from Old Xaverians for his nomination as the Round 4 Grill’d Rising Star.
What the club said:
“Sam first started playing at Old Xaverians in 2017. He would ideally like to play like Matthew Richardson from Richmond but realistically plays like Isaac Smith from Hawthorn.
Sam’s strengths as a footballer are ground coverage with his speed and reading of the game, composure when making decisions and using the ball under pressure, ball handling and the ability to play multiple positions/roles around the ground.
Sam is renowned for many things around the club however in general he is quiet but happy to tell it as it is.”
