Jason Bennett, Joey Pignataro & Paddy Grindlay cast a keen eye over Round 2 of the VAFA season:- UNI BLUES coach MATT SMITH talks us through his team’s rollercoaster ride
Four-time AFL premiership coach, David Parkin, will headline the 2018 VAFA Conference this Saturday at Holmesglen Institute of TAFE’s Chadstone Campus.
Parkin, whose affiliation with the VAFA stems from his younger years with Melbourne High School Old Boys, will present to VAFA coaches about the role of the coach in football.
His incredible service to football has been recognised with several accolades; including, a Medal of the Order of Australia (2013), induction into the Australian Football Hall of Fame (2002) and the Sport Australia Hall of Fame (2010).
Fresh from claiming two VAFA Media Awards at the 2017 AGM Awards Night, Fitzroy FC’s Director of Media & Communications, Kate Nolan, will demonstrate how her club utilises digital and social media to engage players, supporters & sponsors.
Introduced in 2015 to incorporate all pre-season introductions and information nights in an all-inclusive half-day event, this year’s Conference will cover many important topics including women’s football, football operations, sponsorship and media.
The new football operations portal and VAFA insurance will be covered, as well as the introduction of new presidents, laws of the game and new rules, finance, tribunal and club development.
The Conference covers sessions aimed at all Club officials, including Presidents, Secretaries, commercial and sponsorship committee members, media managers, umpires and new coaches.
If you believe you should be attending this event, please contact your Club President or Secretary to discuss your attendance.
