THE Albert Park Falcons Football & Netball Club are proud to announce the club’s new Development (Reserves) Coaches in Nick Thurley and Will Ransom.
Nick and Will join Senior Coach Paul Shoppee, Senior Assistant Paul Dodd and Head Trainer Tim More as part of the Falcons 2018 coaching panel.
Both will continue as playing coaches having been at the club for four (Nick) and nine (Will) years.
Club President Tyson Cattle said it was great to have filled the coaching positions from within.
“It is a great sign we are heading in the right direction when we have two of our own putting their hands up to coach and take on leadership positions at the club,” Tyson said.
“Will and Nick have been great contributors to the club over a number of years, both on and off the field, and I’m sure the playing group will have no issue in supporting them through the season.”
Will and Nick replace former Development Coach, and current committee member, Sean Lewis, who held the position for two years, as well as coaching the Club XVIII side in 2015.
The Falcon’s finished ninth in Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) Division 3 last year, and tenth in Div 3 Reserves.
“We thank Sean for his commitment to the club and the role over his three years, and wish him all the best, although he will still remain involved in the club serving on the committee,” Tyson said.
“We are looking forward to a big season ahead and with some good recruiting, we expect to be a lot stronger on field in 2018.”
