William Buck Premier
Collegians secured a William Buck Premier Grand Final spot after they defeated University Blues by 21 points at Trevor Barker Oval. With 19 goals kicked to one end and only a single goal to the other, the game was always in the balance. Trailing by 10 points at three quarter time, the Lions ignited in the fourth and booted five unanswered goals, with Fraser Cameron (four) leading from the front. Sam Hibbins continued his outstanding recent form and Lachie Ferguson returned to the line-up for the first time in seven weeks, kicking two goals. Jack Townley and Marc James impressed for the Blues, with the latter kicking two goals. The result sets up a tantalising Grand Final against St Kevin’s, with the two previous meetings in the season evenly split.
Premier C
A blistering last term from Caulfield Grammarians has delivered them a Grand Final berth and promotion to Premier B. Cruising at halftime in their clash against Marcellin, the game looked to be in the bag. However, a five goal to two third term from the Eagles had the game back in the balance heading into the last. Caulfield quickly showed why many believe they can win it all next week, powering away from Marcellin to record a crushing 59-point win. Tom Green was dangerous for Grammarians on his way to kicking four, while Nick Baltas and Sam Dorevitch both chimed in with three, with the former being named best on ground. Pat Howe continued his scintillating form for the Eagles with two goals to be named their best. It sets up a rematch of the first Semi Final and a chance at redemption for Fields against Old Haileyburians.
