After losing three of their last four in the lead-up to their second semi-final, UHS-VU bounced back in a big way as they defeated Power House by 44 points at Casey Fields to book a spot in the Division 3 Grand Final. Trailing by two goals at the first break, the Vultures kicked 14 of the last 19 goals of the game as they assumed control and refused to let it go. Brandon Jackson top-scored with four goals for the Vultures, while their defence kept House forward stars Nick Nagel and River Carroll goalless. The Vultures climb to Division 2 and will await the winner of the House and Westbourne Grammarians.
Westbourne Grammarians came from 14 points down at the half time break and secured a preliminary final berth with a six-point win over Swinburne University. In-form big men Michael Culliver and Chris Hudson led the charge for the Warriors as they kicked eight goals to five in the second half. Nicholas Schiano and Jaxon Cooke registered three goals each for the Warriors, while Kane Fitzpatrick starred for the Razorbacks. The Warriors will now face the House in next weekend’s preliminary final.
