Aquinas sent a message to both North Brunswick and Manningham Cobras as they trounced the Bulls by 102 points in the second semi-final clash at Garvey Oval. The one vs two blockbuster match-up was locked in to be a blockbuster after the two sides went 1-1 throughout the home and away season, but the Bloods exploded with 14 goals to one in a dominant second half. Jai Perrett and Patrick Mahon each booted five goals for the Bloods, while Nicholas Morrison-Storey was best afield. It was the Bulls’ lowest total for the season and they will now reload ahead of their preliminary final clash against the in-form Manningham Cobras.
33 scoring shots to 10 helped the Cobras to a comprehensive 113-point victory over Mt Lilydale at Garvey Oval. Kane Maghamez was unstoppable up forward for the Cobras with seven goals, taking his season tally to 56 from 12 games. Benjamin Tomazic also impressed for the Cobras with two goals, while Adam Thorne was the best player for the Rams. The Cobras will face the Bulls in next week’s preliminary.
