Big V coaches confirmed for Bendigo clashes
The VAFA are delighted to announce that LUKE MAHONEY & PAUL CARRIGAN will lead the Big V into battle against Bendigo FNL in July. The VAFA will send two teams
The VAFA congratulates University Blacks defender, Campbell Moorfield, for being named the Round 13 Men’s Rising Star nominee after his outstanding display in difficult conditions against St Bedes/Mentone Tigers on the weekend.
“Campbell first starting playing for the University Blacks in 2016, with his first club game being a senior debut against Collegians in Round 1. In his first year he managed to get a taste of Premier senior football six times. In 2017, he has backed up an impressive first season by featuring in the senior team 8 times so far throughout the season.
A key strength to Campbell’s game is his strong intercept marking inside the defensive 50 and his penetrating left foot kick. Comparisons could be made between Campbell and Alex Rance, with Campbell like Rance often taking the opposition’s most dangerous forward and being an adept player whether the ball be in the air or on the ground.
Whilst being a fairly quiet sort of person, Campbell is renowned around the club for going about his business on and off the field with no complaints and no nonsense. Being a guy that just gets on with the job at hand without making excuses makes him a well-liked bloke around the University Blacks.
Campbell is one player who is sure to have a big future at the University Blacks and in the VAFA as well.”
