Anytime Fitness Rising Star Nominee: Natalie McDonald
The VAFA congratulates Marcellin young gun & inaugural Big V women’s representative, Natalie McDonald, who has been named this week’s Anytime Fitness Rising Star nominee after she played a leading role in the Sheagles’ 59-point win over Caulfield Grammarians on the weekend.
What the club said:
“Natalie played a season of Youth Girls Football for St Mary’s and plays football for her school CLC. The camaraderie with her team mates at Marcellin made Natalie want to play football, particularly her friends from the year playing Youth Girls at St Mary’s, her school friends from CLC and sister Zoe.
Natalie definitely has the attributes of Chris Judd and Brent Harvey, having an explosive burst of speed when she needs it, run and carry with the ball and she hates kicking a goal! A few around the club recently have started calling her Nick NAT. Natalie is a very fast in and under player with great awareness and vision of her surrounds which she developed while she was playing representative basketball and has brought those skill to her football.
Natalie is a hard worker on the training track, and leads by example, her favourite colour is Pink, which she often showcases with her headbands.
Natalie is a team player who loves sport, and will have a go at playing any sport just for the love and according to her mum is stubborn.”
