Elsternwick secured their second win for the year with a 71-point victory over Masala at Elsternwick Park. Just seven points separated the two sides in the first term before the Wickers piled on six goals to three in the second. The Tigers were able to outscore their opponents in the third but the Wickers came home hard with 11.2 to 3.3 in the last quarter. Luke Grabowski starred with five goals for the sixth-placed Wickers, while Leigh Murphy was best for the Tigers.
North Brunswick improved its finals credentials further with a 35-point win over fellow top four aspirant Mt Lilydale. The Bulls had 21 scoring shots to 11 but unfortunately no results had been submitted at time of publication. Adam Thorne starred for the Rams with four goals and Sean Gibson chipped in with two. The Bulls remain undefeated and the Rams now fall outside the four to fifth spot on the ladder.
Aquinas proved too strong for Parkside and ran out 52-point winners at Pitcher Park. Young forward, Liam Whelan, backed up his 10 goals from last week with another four, while Alexander Guthrie was named best afield for the Bloods. Matthew Soligo (three) and Shane McLaren stood out for the Red Devils with impressive displays.
Eley Park Sharks re-entered the top four after they defeated St Francis Xavier by 63 points at Whitehorse Reserve. No results had been submitted for the Sharks, but Jaiden Peters and Thomas Kerr combined for six of the X-Men’s 11 goals.
