Caulfield Grammarians took home back-to-back Under 19 premierships when they defeated Parkdale Vultures in a sensational Section 2 final at Trevor Barker Oval. Oliver Allis and Lachlan Harris were unstoppable as the Fields came from one point down at the main break with seven goals to four in the last two terms. Myles Spielvogel top-scored with three goals for the Fields, while Jaye Edmunds was a standout for the Vultures with two majors and a bevy of disposals.
Collegians claimed a stunning U19 Section 3 extra-time victory over Ormond at Sportscover Arena, running over the Monders in the final minutes of play. With scores tied at 64-all when the final siren blew, extra-time of five-minute halves was implemented as Hugh Greene punched it 20m from the centre bounce, roved his own work and put it through from 45m. Another quick goal to Andrew Scott gave the Lions the ascendancy in the final moments, despite a huge pack mark and conversion from Ormond’s Matthew Perry. Connor Hobbs starred for the Lions, while Dimitri Fasoulis kicked three in a standout performance for the Monders.
Parkside concluded a disappointing season at senior level with a 32-point victory over De La Salle in the Under 19 Section 5 Grand Final at Coburg City Oval. Leading by just two points at the main break, the Red Devils piled on eight of the last 12 goals, with Section best & Fairest and captain, Isaac Nolan, kicking three goals alongside best-on-ground medallion recipient, Marco Creek. Patrick Hounihan and Zacharian Grundmann fought valiantly for De La.
