Westbourne Grammarians kept their unbeaten streak alive as they booked a spot in the Division 4 Grand Final and Division 3 in 2017 when they defeated Point Cook by 31 points at St Bernard’s College. Four unanswered goals in the first term set the scene for the Warriors as they never allowed their counterparts back into the game. Nicholas Schiano (four) and Chris Hudson (three) continued their standout goal kicking form for the Warriors alongside best on ground Adam Imber. Four goals from Jordan Lampi wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs look to regroup before their preliminary final against Mt Lilydale next weekend.
Mt Lilydale produced an unbelievable come-from-behind victory over Eley Park Sharks and booked a preliminary finals spot with a three-point win. Trailing by 15 entering the final term, the Rams sent home four goals to one as Daniel Dimitriou (three), Stephen Donald (three) and Samual Hickey ran riot. Adrian Pillay fought desperately to the very end for the Sharks alongside Paul Tempone (three).
