
VAFA club leaders join AFL Victoria’s ‘Lead Your Way’ program

Westbourne Grammarians finished the home and away season undefeated after they accounted for Mt Lilydale by 110 points at Mercy College. An even first term was blown out of the water as the Warriors piled on 19 of the next 21 goals as Chris Hudson (six) led all comers with a BOG performance. Max Hampton (three) and Tom Bailey fought hard for the Rams.
Eley Park Sharks proved too strong for Box Hill North as they ran out 21 victors at Whitehorse Reserve. Drew Crawford nailed four goals in a standout performance for the Sharks, while Jordan Gasparini bagged five for the Demons. The Sharks enter the finals in third spot on the Division 4 ladder and the Demons will look to regroup after concluding the season with five wins in seventh.
Manningham Cobras ended their season on a high as they defeated Masala by 68 points at Koonung Reserve. Nicholas Edwards sent through six majors and Adam Pianto dominated for the Cobras, while Samuel Freeman (three) and Benjamin Nugent played standout football for the Tigers. Both sides will look to improve over the off-season and push for finals in 2017.
Point Cook faced off with the in-form North Brunswick and escaped with a 13-point win at Saltwater Reserve. Jordan Lampi is in cracking form and earnt his second consecutive best-on-ground award for the Bulldogs, while Patrick Notaro (four) finished the season with nine successive hauls of four goals or more.
