Sean and Dean Calcedo starred as the Bullants’ best, while Chris Beluszar (four) and Daniel Hill (four)combined for three quarters of the eighth-placed Animals’ goals.
MHSOB registered their most important victory for the year, defeating Yarra Valley by 29 points at Doncaster Reserve. Bulleen Templestowe put two consecutive losses in the past as they defeated Richmond Central by 74 points at Kevin Bartlett Reserve. David Dakin and Michael Pace kicked four each in a phenomenal display from the Bullant’s forward 50, while Patrick Boyle and Paul Holland (two) did the damage for the Snakes.
West Brunswick and St John’s partook in a possible grand final preview, with the latter getting the mental ascendancy with a four-point victory at Ransford Oval. With scores even at the half, the JOCs booted six goals to five in an exciting second half, with Tim Edwards bagging five alongside Aaron Thornton’s three. Daniel Abou-Karroum was BOG for the JOCS, while Chris and Bas Simpson were best for the Westies.
