After going winless in the first half of the season, Old Paradians made it four from their past five with a 15-point win against St Mary’s Salesian at Ferndale Park. Marcus Nolan is a man in form after he bagged three and a best-on-ground for the third week in a row for the Raiders. Michael Dolan was just as devastating at the other end with four goals for the Saints, but they now sit a win and a significant amount of percentage out of the four.
Old Geelong solidified second position on the Division 1 ladder as they defeated Therry Penola by 17 points in their blockbuster clash at Geelong Grammar. Carl Joyce and Josh Hutley were dominant for Ogs, while Chris Hoban kicked two goals for the Lions. The win gives Ogs a one-game buffer over the Lions who sit third.
Old Mentonians overcame a slow start at Keysborough Playing Fields and defeated Ivanhoe by 30 points for their fifth consecutive win. Just 11 goals were kicked for the match, with Panther Kyle Conlo (two) the only player to register multiples. Liam Jacob fought hard for the sixth-placed Hoes.
PEGS proved far too strong for Brunswick NOBSPC in their Round 14 clash and ran out 56-point winners at PEGS Sporting Fields. Cameron Livori was outstanding in front of goal and kicked four, while Trent Skurrie, Chris Goulett, Brad Jones and Brett Hannah each recorded two for PEGS. Jeremy Nettlefold snagged a major and was named best for NOBS.
Whitefriars overcame a 22-point quarter time deficit and ran out 34-point victors against Prahran Assumption at Whitefriars College. Michael Nitas kicked three goals in another game which was not overly high scoring, while Sean Currie was hitting nothing but net in a best-on-ground performance. John Robbins kicked two and took his overall season tally to 33 from 12 games for the Two Blues.
