Lions & Blacks on the board – William Buck Premier Men’s Round 3 in Review
As predicted, anyone can beat anyone on any given day in Premier Men’s, as a couple of 0-2 teams dug in to post their maiden wins in Round 3. Collegians
Prior to the Socks Round, Thick and Thin will be hosting a Pie Night this Saturday to raise further awareness of mental health and educate the community.
Thick and Thin is a VAFA player-led initiative created to remove the stigma surrounding mental health issues by starting the conversation. In Round 16 (Prem – Prem C) and Round 17 (Division 1 – 4), clubs will be wearing blue coloured socks to support the campaign and raise much-needed funds to support men’s mental health issues.
As Thick and Thin Round draws nearer, watch and listen to Sydney Swans senior coach John Longmire (above) as he discusses mental health and his experiences surrounding it via the Better Out Than In campaign.
Pie Night details can be found below or at the Thick and Thin Facebook event: where you can confirm your attendance.
Please join the THiCK and THiN team, VAFA Players and wider VAFA community for the inaugural THiCK and THiN pie night to raise further awareness for mental health.
Date/Time: 16th July, from 6-9pm
Location: 11 Princes St, St Kilda
Entry will be by donation (minimum $20 is encouraged) with food and beverages supplied on the night.
Monies raised will go to supporting and educating VAFA players and the VAFA Community.
Please encourage partners to attend and we look forward to your on-going support as we continue to remove the stigma around mental health.
