Old Geelong put last week’s loss to St Mary’s Salesian behind them as they defeated Ivanhoe by 25 points at Como Park. George Burbury starred with three goals alongside BOG Josh Hutley, while Reuben Blackmore-Moore and Mitch Lovell kicked two each for the Hoes. Ogs replace PEGS in the four and the Hoes fall to sixth on the Division 1 ladder.
Six goals from Jarrod Bannister helped Therry Penola to fifth win from their past six games as they defeated Brunswick NOBSPC by 20 points at John Pascoe Fawkner Reserve. Brenton Egglestone chipped in with two goals for the Lions, while Hamish Donohoe was the most impressive player on the field. Jeremy Nettlefold fought hard for NOBS, who fall to ninth on the ladder.
Old Mentonians returned to the top of the Division 1 ladder when they powered past Prahran Assumption by 79 points Keysborough Playing Fields. Eight unanswered goals in the first half set up the win for the Panthers, who then kicked another five to one in the final two quarters. Tim Wilton did the damage across the ground for the Panthers, while Oliver Webber and Darcy Brown registered three goals each. Harrison Taylor kicked the one and only goal for the Two Blues, who sit in last spot on the ladder with one win a one draw to their name.
Old Paradians made it two wins in a row and elevated themselves to eighth on the ladder with a five-point victory against PEGS at PEGS Sporting Fields. Four, five, four, five was the Raider’s lead at every change in a hard-fought battle against a side who were atop the ladder just two weeks ago. Andrew Tulipano was incredible as BOG, and Brent Fairley led the scoreboard with two for the Raiders, while Trent Skurrie kicked two for PEGS.
13 first-half goals led Whitefriars to a shock 22-point upset over last week’s ladder leaders St Mary’s Salesian at Whitefriars College. Andrew Daou (eight goals) and Michael Nitas (six) were unstoppable in front of goal for Friars, while Stefan Gusts (four) and Michael Dolan (four) combined for eight of the Saint’s 18. Whitefriars are seventh, while the Saints fall to third on the Division 1 ladder.
