The VAFA is excited to announce Grill’d Healthy Burgers has signed on again for the 2016 season as the official healthy burger partner of the VAFA.
The 2016 season will see greater development of the partnership on and off the field.
Grill’d and the VAFA share common values, primarily focused on creating a culture of community and local connection. For the VAFA, this is represented on and off the ground and for Grill’d, in and out of their restaurants. As both parties draw connection from their Victorian heritage this opportunity was one that Grill’d Founder, Simon Crowe, was extremely keen to develop in 2016.
The partnership was instigated towards the end of the 2015 season and built a connection between the VAFA teams and their local Grill’d restaurant through the Local Footy Matters initiative, which raised over $10,000 for the local football clubs. The VAFA and Grill’d have locked this in again for May 2016 across 22 restaurants.
This season, Grill’d are looking to support the clubs even further with a variety of initiatives ranging from best on ground awards, exclusive restaurant offers to players and officials, Grill’d Sherrins and the popular Grill’d Done Good Award competition. From a player’s perspective, Grill’d are also looking to support the aspiring youth as they become the naming rights sponsor of the Rising Star award for 2016.
Crowe said there are great synergies between the Grill’d food philosophy and what the VAFA stands for.
“At the core we are united in developing our local community,” he said.
“Be they guests in restaurant or amateur footballers, we want to support the locals that support us. We admire how the VAFA has never swayed from their strong values in their 124-year history. Here at Grill’d we are a value-led business and are excited to align to such an organisation.
“The VAFA’s focus on health certainly links to our mission at Grill’d which is simple. We make amazing burgers from the freshest, highest quality ingredients. This includes sourcing local ingredients from local suppliers to give us the best grass-fed lamb and beef, cage-free eggs and hormone-free chicken. It’s also about having an ongoing commitment to ensure we are always sourcing the best produce and developing the tastiest and healthiest options that we possibly can for our guests.”
VAFA Commercial Manager, Blair O’Hara, said “our partnership with Grill’d in 2015 created great benefits for the VAFA and our clubs”.
“Working closely with the team at Grill’d we launched a number of engaging activations that put Grill’d at the forefront of the VAFA community. The VAFA and our clubs also received terrific exposure in August in the Local Footy Matters program. This is a true match of honest brand values and we are very excited to enhance this partnership in 2016 which will truly involve the whole VAFA community.”
