The Victorian Amateur Football Association’s U19 representative side will kick off this weekend’s round of action when they clash with Victoria Country’s U19’s at Queen Elizabeth Oval in Bendigo on Saturday morning.
Over the past two years, the ledger has been split 1-1 between the two sides, with the VAFA last tasting victory in 2013 when they defeated Victoria Country by four points in a hard-fought slog at the Junction Oval.
Following the initial selection of a 68-man squad, the U19’s coaching staff has now picked the 22 who will don the Big V this weekend.
Collegians boast the highest number of representatives with three, while Beaumaris, Kew, Old Trinity, Monash Blues and St Bernards have two each.
Three members from last year’s VAFA U18’s tour of New Zealand have been named, with Beaumaris’ Ben Dixon and St Bernards pair Michael Caven and Will Considine each earning selection.
