Elsternwick hosted the struggling South Melbourne and the Wickers did what they needed to secure a five goal win. Justin Hunter was on the end of five goals, whilst Craig Mahony and Jack Fuller both kicked four each for the Wicks.
Ivanhoe remain in outright second after they had a solid 25 point win over an improving MHSOB. There was only a goal the difference at the last chance, but Ivanhoe kicked three goals and kept the Unicorns to just two behinds to secure the win.
Northern Blues came from behind in their Division 3 Grand Final rematch with Richmond Central to win by 32 points over the Snakes. Roland Buttigieg booted five goals in the win that takes Northern Blues to fourth spot.
Old Eltham made light work of their match against visiting Monash Gryphons. The Turtles ran out winners by 70 points to stay in ouch with the top two.
St Johns took the best part of three quarters to shake off an impressive Old Paradians to eventually win their match by 28 points. It was the sternest test to date for the JOCs, but five goals to Aaron Thornton was enough to aid the victory. Old Paradians had their own shining light, with James Kandilakis slotting six majors.
