The VAFA would like to express its sadness and send our condolences to the family and friends of Mary Miles, who died on Wednesday as a result of complications from surgery. Mary was the the wife of former VAFA Executive Member and VAFA Life Member John Miles.
Mary was a staunch supporter of the VAFA and was a Life Member of the Ivanhoe Amateur Football Club and she did a power of work for the VAFA whilst John was on the Executive.
Mary visited Ivanhoe every season, accompanying John to most home games.
Mary’s involvement with the club, including being a member of the Black & Whites, spanned over 50 years and her friendly smile will be sadly missed.
Mary turned 81 last month and is survived by four children; Heather, Wendy, Leanne and Greg, 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
The VAFA extends deepest sympathies to John and all of the Miles family and all at the Ivanhoe Amateur Football Club.
