VAFA Announce Grand Final Lunch – Watch VAFA President Michael Hazell make the announcement below.
The VAFA welcomes everyone from the wider community to our showpiece event of the year, the VAFA Grand Final Lunch. Whether you are involved with the VAFA or one of our clubs, have had a past association with the VAFA or are simply interested in attending a great event, you are all welcome to join the VAFA Board and Staff at the Grand Hyatt Ballroom on Friday 19 September 2014 for what promises to be a fantastic lunch.
The VAFA Grand Final Lunch will be hosted by ABC TV presenter Barrie Cassidy and includes guest speaker Matthew Lloyd to deliver his state of football address, as well as musical performances from Alana Conway.
Matthew Lloyd has become one of the most respected voices in Australian football. The former St Bernard’s College student and AFL Hall of Fame inductee is known for his accurate and incisive commentary, whether it be via his column in The Sunday Age, or his work on 3AW and Channel 9.
Alana Conway is one of Australia’s most exciting and intriguing performers. Her smooth as silk voice, classic elegance and blissful sounds of the harp are simply captivating.
Barrie Cassidy has been the host of both Insiders and Offsiders on ABC TV on Sunday mornings and he has years of experience primarily as a political journalist. His quick wit and observational commentary has become much admired.
The VAFA Grand Final Lunch will be a chance to celebrate the achievements of the VAFA premiership winners from the weekend prior as well as a chance to preview the Premier Grand Final that will take place on the Saturday.
