The VAFA are delighted to welcome Sam Confait and congratulate Olivia Crowe on their new roles in Football and Umpire Operations.
As announced at last Monday’s Members Meeting by Michael Sholly, the VAFA recently has seen a staff structure change and advertised for two new officer positions in Football and Umpire Operations.
Sam joins the VAFA from his time teaching and working in Sports Administration at St Michaels Grammar School and he will fulfil the newly created role of Football Operations Officer.
Olivia is well known to all in the VAFA where she has worked for the past two years in Finance and Administration. Olivia was delighted to take the opportunity as the VAFA’s first Umpire Operations Officer and will commence in the position on Friday 7 March.
“It has been a wonderful two and a half years so far at the VAFA and this opportunity will allow me to continue to develop my skill set and advance my career in football administration” Crowe told vafa.com.au.
“The opportunity to work closely with the VAFA Umpires Association, helping to develop our umpire pool and create closer ties with the various umpiring programs is one that I am looking forward to.”
“This coupled with the extra work in the Media and Communications of the VAFA and a further exploration of the prospect of Women’s Football being introduced to the VAFA are passions of mine.”
Mr Confait will commence with the VAFA on Monday 31 March, in time for the start of the season.
His responsibilities will primarily focused on increasing the service level to the VAFA’s 75 clubs. Working closely with Football Administration Assistant, Christian Burgess and reporting directly to Brian Goodman, Sam will ensure the VAFA football competition is managed professionally.
With Olivia moving to Umpire Operations a new position will be advertised in Finance and Administration. Applicants can read more about the position of Administration Assistant below. All applicants should forward their CV and cover letter to jobs@vafa.com.au by close of business, Monday 17th March.
