
2025 Premier B Women’s Fixture
The Premier B Women’s fixture has been released for the 2025 season. New club Port Melbourne Chargers will host Old Melburnians in their historic first home game at JL Murphy
This week the VAFA Board held their monthly meeting on Monday night and at the March Members Meeting later that night confirmed that Andy Evans will be added to the Executive as a Board appointment.
Mr Evans’ appointment brings the Board to eleven representatives and when vafa.com.au spoke to Mr Evans he was delighted to be joining the Board of such a well respected Association.
“I am very excited to be joining the Board of the VAFA, I have a great affinity with the competition and my passion for Amateur football continues to grow each year” said Mr Evans.
“Having been a former player in the VAFA, it is wonderful to be given an opportunity to give back to the competition by assisting in the guidance, the growth and future direction of the Association.”
“The VAFA means so much to so many in our community and it is a privilege to be involved at Board level.”
VAFA President Michael Hazell said the acquisition of Mr Evans to the Board will strengthen the Executive in a number of areas.
“Andy has fantastic previous Board experience with a strong background in governance, he is enthusiastic, hardworking and a leader and he has a strong knowledge of our Association. I am delighted that Andy will join our executive team.”
Andy Evans has a detailed corporate and not-for-profit background in a number of industries including energy and resources (particularly renewable and alternative energy), environment, infrastructure, projects and construction.
Mr Evans has been a qualified lawyer for over 14 years and with significant experience in senior executive management and recent directorship experience, all gained from working in a variety of well-established companies as well as newer or start-up companies, his professional skills will be a great addition to the Board.
Mr Evans has a strong football background too, highlighted by his time at St Kilda from 1990 to 1992. He was also a member of the Victorian Metro team and a member of the All-Australian Teal Cup Team in 1990. After his time at St Kilda, Evans played for De La Salle for a decade from 1993 to to 2002, captaining the club in his final two years as a player. Evans also represented the VAFA playing for the Big V against South Australia in 1998. Evans has maintained his involvement in football by becoming an accredited AusKick coach and continues to watch De La Salle when he can.
Initially Mr Evans will join the Football Growth and Development Sub-Comittee. From everyone at the VAFA we extend a warm welcome to Andy Evans as the newest member of the VAFA Executive.
