St. Bernard’s OCFC is seeking an enthusiastic football coach who has a passion for teaching and developing young men.
In season 2014, the St. Bernard’s “unders” players looks like totalling in excess of 85, and so the football club will enter 3 teams in the VAFA competition. These will be U19 Premier, U19 North and U18.
Our coaching appointments are finalised for BOTH the U19 Premier team and the U18 team. What we need now is an U19 North coach.
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
• Level 1 AFL coaching accreditation (or a willingness to obtain this qualification) • Strong verbal communication skills • A desire to teach and develop young men transitioning from junior football through to the senior ranks of the VAFA • Willingness to act as part of a “team” of unders coaches, led by U19 Premier coach, Rocky Iannello
We will provide adequate match day support for the successful applicant, including at least 1 assistant coach, a dedicated whiteboard person, a runner, a team manager and a dedicated trainer(s).
In your role as a coach of our U19 North team, you will work directly with Rocky Iannello and Serge Romano (U19 Premier coaches) and Rohan Vahland and Shane Denahy (U18 coaches) in a constructive way to ensure as many boys as possible are given the chance to participate in a supportive team and club environment. Our mantra is to afford every boy the opportunity to experience an inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment where every player is developed as a footballer as well as a young man.
If this role appeals to you, please contact our club Football Director, Craig Connelly, at [email protected].
Applications are sought immediately. The role is a voluntary role and will not be remunerated, however the successful applicant will be a part of a vibrant A Grade football club, and we are confident the role will be an extremely rewarding experience.
