The VAFA is excited to announce the return of Carlton and United Breweries (CUB) as the official beer and cider partner of the VAFA for the next three years, starting 2013.
It goes without saying that CUB and its portfolio of beers including Carlton Draught, Victoria Bitter, and Crown Lager are synonymous with Victoria and an alignment with the VAFA is a natural fit. We are also delighted CUB has returned to support the VAFA and mark a dedicated return to community football in Melbourne.
CUB will supply all VAFA functions and events, starting with the VAFA 2013 Season Launch on April 3rd.
Carlton Draught and several other CUB brands including Victoria Bitter, Carlton Dry, Pure Blonde and Cascade Premium Light are the most commonly consumed beer products across Victoria. We believe this arrangement will be a win-win for the VAFA and our clubs, with these brands also popular with our local adult club members which will drive more business through our clubs.
Stuart Carruthers, General Manager Sales – Victoria, stated “CUB has a long and distinguished involvement in Australian Rules Football that stretches back over 100 years. And we are committed to supporting the sport at both professional and community levels underpinned by responsible consumption. We are pleased to bring iconic brands such as Carlton Draught and Carlton Mid back to the VAFA.
VAFA clubs responsible approach to alcohol includes no alcohol served or for sale during matches and Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training for local club volunteers.
A delighted VAFA CEO, Michael Sholly, stated “The VAFA is thriled to welcome back CUB as our official beer and cider supplier. CUB is a brand synonymous with Victorian sport andsupporting Victoria’s largest senior football competition is a winning outcome for both organizations.
Through the sponsorship CUB will also be supporting all VAFA functions, in addition to providing opportunities for partnership with all seventy-four clubs. We would like to thank Lion Nathan for their support of the VAFA over the past four seasons.”
