The Bendigo Bank Branch in East Malvern reached a significant milestone this year when they announced they have donated a total of $2 million worth of sponsorships and donations back to the local community.
To celebrate the occasion they hosted a function last week for all the clubs and organisations who have been lucky enough to be recipients of funds over the past decade.
The Bendigo Bank East Malvern is one of the VAFA’s most valued sponsors with recent donations allowing us to install a hot water service in the changing rooms at Elsternwick Park as well as purchase covers for the centre wicket area of the ground to ensure that games played at Sportscover Arena would not be played in a total bog.
The Bendigo Bank East Malvern is also a valued sponsor of the following VAFA clubs: De La Salle, Prahran Assumption, St Kevin’s Old Boys, St Mary’s Salesian, Monash Gryphons, Caulfield Grammarians, Old Xaverians, Collegians and Chadstone.
Representatives from all clubs were present at the evening where they learned that the Branch took eight years to donate the first first million dollars and just two years for the second million.
VAFA Board Member Davina Connors-Calhaem and VAFA CEO Michael Sholly attended the evening on behalf of the Association.
The VAFA hopes to continue our partnership with the Bendigo Bank for a long time and encourages all in the Association to bank with a community bank that puts their profits back into the local community.
*Correction: As an addition St Kevin’s Old Boys are also proudly sponsored by the Bendigo Bank East Malvern and were also in attendance on the night.
